We currently have two species of flamingos illustrated on our website. Here below is a comparison between the two. Both species occur in the same areas, notably in Africa. Away from the size you can see the typical all-dark bill of the Lesser Flamingo (left) compared to the pale black-tipped bill of Greater Flamingo (right). This feature is reliable in all ages ; the photo shows juvenile birds.
